About Hypnosis
Hypnosis enables you to make changes that you already have the ability to make (in terms of intelligence, knowledge and skill), but for some reason seem to be unable to make the change completely or permanently.
Your beliefs drive your thought processes which in turn drive your actions. Beliefs are stored in your sub-conscious mind, as a result of previous influences (upbringing, learning, affect of significant events). All habits are driven by the subconscious mind's attempt (sometimes mis-guided) to provide a positive outcome (comfort, safety, happiness) Hypnosis works by allowing you to use your conscious mind (logic, intelligence) to ‘re-set' how your sub-conscious mind works for you, to provide the same positive outcome (comfort, safety, happiness) but without the negative habit.
Hypnosis is a natural process. During hypnosis, you remain awake but enter a pleasant state of relaxation where your subconscious mind naturally becomes more aware and receptive. This allows the use of suggestions to change the instructions that the subconscious had been following up to now. The suggestions are your instructions (not mine) based upon our discussions before hypnosis, which lead towards your desired outcome.
The process of hypnosis also allows you to learn from the information that is currently held in your subconscious mind. This enables you to change the way that information is affecting you – for example a memory of being bullied at school will affect your confidence today. By using hypnosis you can change the way the memory sits in your subconscious mind, changing the way it affects you today.
